DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Christmas may be more than a month away but the downtown Decatur area is already in the holiday spirit. The Decatur Area Arts Council spent part of Friday morning erecting Christmas Card Lane.
The festive area in Preston Jackson Park now has 19 large Christmas cards as part of a public art display. This is the 7th year for Christmas Card Lane.
Artists of various skill levels, including children, use four by six-foot boards to create their Christmas themed art cards. Some cards even have electric/battery powered lights.
Volunteers erect Christmas Card Lane in downtown Decatur November 15, 2024.
Starting Monday, November 18, 2024, people can go to DecaturArts.org and vote on their favorite card. Voting will end on December 24th. The top 3 winners will receive a modest cash prize.
