DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The City of Decatur will host a city-wide cleanup on Saturday, October 12.
Cleanup will start at 8:00 a.m. and go to 12 noon in the downtown Transit campus between Franklin St/Rt. 51 and Industry Ct/Macon St, south of Wood St.
Participants are reminded this event will not occur in the Civic Center parking lot as it has in years past.
Below is a map showing the disposal location, expected traffic flow, and vehicle lineup area. The City will have barricades and markers set up to help with traffic flow.

Decatur residents can bring large items for disposal free of charge. You must show proof of City of Decatur residency.
All items must be deposited into the roll-off containers located within the parking lot. Residents are required to unload items themselves, as there will be no assistance available for this task.
Acceptable items include: furniture, mattresses, and other bulky household items. Limited amounts of tires, electronics, appliances, computers and monitors will be accepted. NO paint or yard waste allowed.
This will be the only city-wide cleanup in 2024.
Those who can't make it to the event, can use the bulky pickup service provided by your waste hauler. Decatur garbage customers get five separate bulky pickups each year, and can dispose of up to five items during each collection.
