CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Two overnight shootings are under investigation in Champaign. 

Champaign Police were called to a local hospital at 1:54 a.m. after a 17-year-old boy arrived by personal vehicle with a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen. He reported that he was walking in the 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard when he was shot. The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.

In a separate shooting the police said is unrelated to the first, at 5:32 a.m., a 36-year-old man walked into the same Emergency Department with a head injury. While he initially reported that the injury resulted from a sports-related incident in the Garden Hills neighborhood, medical personnel quickly determined it was a gunshot wound. The victim provided no further information about the incident. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.
