House fire in Paris, Illinois

PARIS, Ill. (WAND) - An investigation is underway after the Paris Fire Chief said a house fire was intentionally set. 

At 6:19 a.m. Friday, the Paris Fire Department was called to the 300 block of East Madison St. for a fire. 

Firefighters found a house with smoke coming from it. Crews were able to use a handline to get the fire put out. 

Fire Chief Zack Janis said the fire was intentionally set. The Paris Fire Department is working with the Paris Police Department to investigate. 

No other information is being released at this time.
