DECATUR Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur man who Illinois State Police special agents said downloaded over 3,800 files containing child pornography from the internet has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty.Â
Harry O. Shull was arraigned in November on 10 counts of child pornography possession, according to Macon County Court records.Â
A sworn affidavit of Shull's arrest said ISP traced files he downloaded in July that had 3,474 videos and images of child sexual abuse to his IP address.Â
Another set of files downloaded to the IP address in September had 336 videos and images of children being sexually abused, according to the affidavit.Â
ISP special agents carried out a search warrant at Shull's house in November. Shull admitted to the agents that he's viewed and downloaded child pornography on his home computer, the affidavit said.
State police said a laptop in Shull's bedroom had child pornography involving a "prepubescent female" downloaded at the time of the search.Â
In court, Shull entered into a plea agreement, pleading guilty to two counts of child pornography. Ten other counts were dropped.Â
He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, 10 for each count. He will be eligible for day for day and will get credit for time previously served in custody from November 4, 2025 through May 27, 2026.
