Police arrest - handcuffs (C)

LINCOLN, Ill. (WAND) — A man was arrested and charged with several felonies after an hours-long standoff with police in Lincoln Sunday.

The Lincoln Police Department responded to Lincoln Memorial Hospital just after 5:30 p.m. for reports of a domestic battery. Police said the investigation led officers to a home in the 700 block of South Kickapoo Street.

Officers made contact over the phone with 39-year-old Joshua L. Quisenberry, who reportedly had a gun. Police evacuated nearby homes and started negotiating with Quisenberry.

According to police, a K9 was deployed after several hours of failed negotiations, and Quisenberry was arrested.

He is charged with two counts of domestic battery, one count of possession of a firearm without a FOID card, and two counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.

The Lincoln Police Department said Quisenberry made his first court appearance Wednesday and will remain in jail.
