BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WAND) — A Mahomet man was arrested on several felony charges after Bloomington police said he sexually abused a teenage girl last year.
According to the Bloomington Police Department, 23-year-old Eswin Ixcotoyac was arrested on seven felony counts Wednesday.
Police said an investigation started in November 2025 when a report was made that Ixcotoyac contacted a girl under the age of 18 on a social media platform in July 2025.
According to the report, Ixcotoyac portrayed himself as a 16-year-old to convince the victim to meet with him in person, where he sexually assaulted her.
The report said the girl later learned Ixcotoyac was an adult and filed a police report with the Bloomington Police Department.
Ixcotoyac was arrested Wednesday on four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim 13-16 years old, grooming, traveling to meet a minor, and indecent solicitation of a child/aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Police said Ixcotoyac was denied pre-trial release.
