SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Crime Stoppers and the Springfield Fire Department are seeking the public's help regarding an arson at Jaycee's Park last week.Â
Crime Stoppers said in a Facebook post that Springfield firefighters responded to the park around 5 p.m. on June 1 after unknown people had set the playground equipment on fire.
According to Crime Stoppers, the fire destroyed much of the playground and caused up to $70,000 in damage.Â
Anyone in the area who may have witnessed suspicious activity is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427, submit a tip online, or use the P3 Tips app.Â
