DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — There's a new owner for Custard Cup in Danville, and it's a Danville native.
Andrew Seibert is originally from Danville, and even spent some time working at the dessert shop when he was younger.
"Having worked there, it holds a special place in my heart. While I no longer live there currently, it will always be home," said Seibert.
There was a bidding held with a few other bidders. But, Seibert was the winning bidder, with a bid of $250,000. Now, Seibert is just happy to give back to his home.
"Taking this opportunity to preserve this iconic business, but also it's definitely going to be a vehicle for me to give back to the community," said Seibert.
The Custard Cup will open for its 75th season on March 15, 2024.
