DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — More money is going toward drug rehabilitation and prevention services in Decatur.

The Decatur City Council voted Monday night to spend $95,000 on wraparound services through Heritage Behavioral Health. The funding will help pay for transportation, harm reduction supplies, training and other support services for people struggling with addiction.

Council members also approved nearly $11,000 for the Decatur Police Department’s DARE program. The early intervention and prevention program was recently reinstated in the local school district.

Both projects will be funded through opioid settlement money awarded to the city.
