DECATUR - The Walgreens store at 1315 North Water Street in Decatur to close next week. Senior Media Relations Manager James Graham tells Wand News that the decision to close the location August 17th was not an easy one after 11 years of operation of the Walgreens on North Water Street. Graham says, "be assured the community will remain well served by Walgreens." Prescription files for the North Water street location will automatically transfer to the Walgreens Pharmacy at West Grand Avenue, at 1311 Illinois Route 48. That location is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. Pharmacy patients will receive a letter in the mail providing information about their prescription records. Customers can have their prescriptions filled at any Walgreens store. The store employees affected by the North Water street closing have been offered job opportunities at other Walgreens locations.
