DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Decatur Public Schools confirmed that an "altercation" involving both students and parents disrupted an eighth grade promotion ceremony.
WAND first reported a large police presence at Stephen Decatur Middle School Friday evening. DPS was immediately contacted for more information, but did not respond until Monday.
Decatur police said that two people had been taken into custody as of Friday.
The district said that it's conducting an investigation and will "deal with individuals accordingly."
