CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Parkland College will be upgrading the servers at its planetarium.
The Board of Trustees approved a $186,000 purchase Wednesday for the new servers and software, replacing outdated equipment that has been running since 2018.
The Parkland College Foundation will fund the initial purchase.
Foundation Director Danielle Wilberg said the funding aligns with the college's core priorities.
"When this came about, the servers were needed," Wilberg said. "It was the kind of project that we know our donors are committed to from a community aspect as well as from an educational aspect."
