URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - Urbana School District 116 Superintendent Jennifer Ivory-Tatum announced Wednesday that she will retire at the end of the current school year. 

USD116 said that Ivory-Tatum has served over two decades with Urbana and 34 years in education. 

"It has truly been one of the greatest privileges and honors of my professional career to serve this district and this community. We have accomplished a great deal together, and we have laid a strong foundation for the future of Urbana," Ivory-Tatum said in a statement. 

Ivory-Tatum will work with the Board of Education and other district leaders to ensure a "thoughtful and inclusive process" for selecting the next superintendent. 

The board will share additional information about the search at a later date.
