(WAND) - A bug may have allowed third parties to access close to 7 million Facebook users' photos.
In a statement, Facebook said users who logged into Facebook and gave photo access to third party apps may have been compromised.
Photos can be accessed, even if you uploaded them, but did not click the "Publish" button.
And it is not just your timeline photos that are at risk. Photos shared to other places on the site were compromised as well, including Facebook Marketplace pictures.
The bug affected about 6.8 million users and 1,500 apps.
It lasted 12 days between Sept. 13 and Sept. 25.
Facebook said the problem has now been resolved. It will send notifications to people who had their pictures compromised.
