(WAND) — The FDA has elevated the risk level for a recent recall for a Seviroli Foods product due to the possibility of it containing a deadly bacteria.

The FDA issued a Class 1 recall for Serviroli Foods' Chicken Alfredo kit, which contains chicken contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The FDA elevated the recall to the highest level on Nov. 21.

The company initiated a volunteer recall on October 9. The impacted product has since been pulled from store shelves, according to company spokeswoman Lisa Pham.

Pham said only the pasta belonged to Seviroli. The chicken in the product was sourced by BrucePac, according to Pham. BrucePac was the subject of a major recall in October.

The recall number is F-0143-2025, impacting several states nationwide, including Illinois.

Listeria infections can cause flu-like symptoms and severe infections among the elderly, those with compromised immune systems, pregnant women, and their unborn children.
