MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) - A Mattoon woman arrested on charges of financially exploiting an older adult in December 2020 has pleaded guilty.Â
According to court records, Heidi Wilson was placed on 30 months of second-chance probation.Â
Wilson must pay $16,000 to the victim's estate and will also serve 180 days in jail if probation is violated.Â
Police arrested Wilson on Dec. 23, 2020, after she was accused of embezzling around $25,000 from a senior with several health issues.Â
Additionally, police said that Wilson had completed documents naming herself as the beneficiary on the victim's life insurance policy.Â
