LINCOLN, Ill. (WAND) — According to the Mayor of Lincoln, local firefighters put out a fire quickly at the Idle Hour Inn on the morning of December 8.
In a Facebook post, Tracy Welch, Mayor of Lincoln, said the eatery housed there is "legendary" to the community. He thanked citizens for their quick call-ins and first responders for their efforts in getting the fire under control.

Welch added that he was told there was extensive damage, but no one was hurt. "The hearts of the entire community go out to the Coppinger family on this devastating loss."
Welch additionally thanks Carrie Groves at McEntire's Home Appliance for keeping first responders hydrated and fed with water and snacks. Adding, this is what the area does in times of trouble, "One thing I know is that our community pulls together in times of need and this unfortunate incident was no different."
