DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A firefighter was injured while battling an apartment fire in Danville Tuesday.Â
The Danville Fire Department was called to a 2-story apartment building that was not in use in the 600 block of West Seminary St. at 10:16 a.m.Â
Firefighters said there was a fire in the basement that was spreading throughout the building.Â
Danville police officers told firefighters that neighbors had reported squatters using the building. However, no one was inside when crews searched.Â
A family in a nearby structure were temporarily evacuated while the fire was brought under control.Â
A warming bus was brought in for that family and firefighters to use.Â
One firefighter suffered minor injuries.Â
The Danville Fire Department along with the Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.Â
