DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — More than 250,000 men will be diagnosed this year with prostate cancer. Free prostate cancer screenings will be available in Decatur on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Prostate screenings are recommended for all men ages 50 to 69, African American men ages 40 to 60 and men with a family history of prostate cancer ages 40 to 69.

No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome.

The screenings take place at SIU Urology, 302 W. Hay St. in Decatur on the Memorial Hospital campus.  

The prostate screenings include a prostate-specific antigen blood test and digital rectal exam.
