DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Officials with Memorial Health say more than 250,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year.
Â
So, Memorial Health, in partnership with SIU Medicine and Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois, is providing free prostate screenings in September.
On Friday, September 13th, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the SIU Urology building in Decatur will offer a free prostate cancer screening.
Â
The screenings include a digital rectal exam and a prostate-specific antigen blood test. Health providers say all men aged 50 to 69, except for African American men and those with a family history, need to be screened. Those men should get screened by age 40.
