EFFINGHAM - A southern Illinois woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
Christine Burr, 58, pleaded guilty on Monday in the 2011 stabbing death of Joseph Delaney. She also pleaded guilty to concealment of a homicidal death for disposing of his body.
Burr admitted to stabbing Delaney to death in an angry outburst in July 2011. A hiker found Delaney's body along the Embarras River less than a year later.
