EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) - New requirements are in place for businesses or contractors offering cleanup services in Effingham County.Â
Effingham County Chairman Josh Douthit signed an executive order on Friday, and it will not apply to any business with a primary address before June 17.Â
According to the order, businesses offering cleanup services must register with the county and provide relevant documents.Â
Required documents for registration are as follows:
- Legal business name/contact information
- Names of on-site representatives
- Description of services
- Work locations within the county
- Liability insurance
- Copies of trade-specific licenses required by state law
- Copy of Illinois business license or Illinois Secretary of State business registration/similar document from another state
The order will remain in place while the county is under a disaster declaration.Â
The Effingham County Emergency Management Agency confirmed through the National Weather Service in Lincoln that an EF-3 tornado touched down in the county during Wednesday's storms.Â
Multiple non-life-threatening injuries occurred in the path of the storm, but no deaths were reported.Â
