EFFINGHAM, Ill (WAND) – Four flags marking 250 years since the nation's birth. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapter in Effingham donated flags to be flown next to government buildings.
“Our country is celebrating its 250th anniversary this summer,” said DAR member Susan Oliver. “They are going to be here at City Hall, the county building, at the Effingham Police Department and [the] Effingham fire station.”
A ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon, as DAR presented the flags to the various government entities.
The DAR in Effingham has 154 members.
