PARIS, Ill. (WAND) - A Vermilion man is dead following a mowing accident at an Edgar County golf course on Friday.
The Edgar County Coroner's Office said that first responders were called just after noon when a worker at Eagle Ridge Golf Course was found unresponsive and pinned under a mower in a pond.Â
First responders arrived and immediately called the coroner.Â
The coroner's office stated that 64-year-old Jay Roush was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
An investigation found that another worker at the golf course went looking for Roush after he wasn't answering his phone.Â
It is unclear what caused the mower to drift into the pond.Â
An autopsy is set for Tuesday, and the accident is under investigation.Â
