Champaign Mexican restaurant to close its doors in June

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Burrito Lab in Champaign announced Tuesday that it will close its doors next month.

According to the restaurant in a Facebook post, its location at 209 E University will have its final day on June 12.

The restaurant did not give a reason for the closure.

"The Champaign-Urbana community showed us incredible love, support, and belief in what we were building from day one. Without you, we simply wouldn’t be here," the Burrito Lab said in the post.

The restaurant's family will continue to operate in the Champaign-Urbana community with La Michoacana on Wheels, an ice cream and food truck, along with Los Comales, set to open later this year in Champaign.

Those interested in ordering from the Burrito Lab before the closure can view the menu online.
