CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — There were no injuries after a single-family home caught fire in Champaign Wednesday.

The Champaign Fire Department responded to the fire at a home near the intersection of East Beardsley Avenue and North 5th Street just before 2 p.m.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke coming from the back of the house and a growing fire inside. The department said crews were able to keep the fire contained to the back of the home and put it out quickly.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Nobody was hurt and no one was home at the time of the fire, according to the department.
