DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Central Illinois drivers are warned to be extra careful on country roads during the growing season.
It's more difficult to see around intersections on county roads as some corn stalks across Macon County are already pushing seven feet tall.
Lt. Scott Flannery from the Macon County Sheriff's Office said if you cannot see at least a quarter mile down the road because of decreased visibility, slow down when you approach an intersection.
Flannery also said to be aware of farming equipment on the road as we head into harvest season.
