DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Spring is here, which means yard work season is in full swing. But with gas prices still over $4 a gallon in some parts of Illinois, local businesses that rely on gas, like landscaping and lawn care services, are feeling the pinch.

Brycen Bridges, owner of Grizzly Greens Lawncare and Landscaping, said they are spending at least $1000 in gas a month.

"Last year, [we were] at like $2 a gallon. Now it's more than double than most. All of our equipment is gas. And we got trucks that get less than 10 miles a gallon. Definitely adds up quick. It's a good amount of money here," he said.

For now, Bridges does not think that the costs this season will negatively affect this season. He said they will choose more efficient routes to use less gas and adjust prices when needed.
