VERMILION COUNTY - Illinois State Police say a portion of I-74 in Vermilion County was temporarily blocked due to a two-vehicle crash during the early morning hours of March 15.
ISP officials say the crash happened at about 3:00 a.m. on I-74 eastbound, near mile post 215.
According to the preliminary results of the investigation, authorities say a truck-tractor semi-trailer was traveling in the right-hand lane when it left the roadway to the right, swerved back to the left, and overcorrected. The truck-tractor then rolled over onto its passenger side, striking the guardrail to its right and cable to its left, resulting in the contents of the semi-trailer spilling onto the roadway. A Dodge Grand Caravan crashed into the truck-tractor as it rolled over, resulting in minor damage.
Troopers say the driver of the truck-tractor was cited for improper lane usage. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
