All residents of Nokomis now without water

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - CWLP water crews worked overnight to operate a valve to be able to start emergency repairs to a broken water transmission in Springfield. 

The water main break happened in the South 11th Street area. 

Water service was temporarily out for ten customers in the area who were notified of the work that started around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

The impacted addresses were: 

  • 4521 & 4611 S 11th St
  • 1000, 1640, & 1700 Hazel Dell Rd
  • 1200 & 1201 Bunn Ave
  • 4480 & 4500 S 6th Street Frontage Rd

Water has been restored. Work to isolate the main and prepare for the repair is planned to resume later Wednesday.
