Man found dead in Decatur from gunshot wound early Friday morning

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A 45-year-old man was found dead around the 1600 block of N. Edward Street Friday morning.

Decatur Police found the man a little before 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 22.

Officers closed off a portion of the 1600 Block of N. Edward to preserve evidence and conduct a canvas. The scene was processed by the Decatur Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Detectives found shell casings near the man's body. No other information has been provided at this time.
