SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A man who was stabbed to death in Springfield over the weekend has been identified.

The Springfield Police Department arrested a woman in connection with the Saturday morning stabbing.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 400 block of North 4th Street at 4:46 a.m. When they arrived, they found a 48-year-old man with life threatening injuries.

According to the Sangamon County Coroner, the man, identified as Aaron Lee Parrish, Sr., died at 5:10 a.m. after being taken to the hospital. 

Just after 10 a.m. Saturday morning, police arrested 44-year-old Natasha P Blackwell for first degree murder and aggravated domestic battery.
