Mattoon, IL- A Mattoon man accused of being drunk and texting before a crash that killed his daughter has taken a plea deal.

35 year old William Shackles plead guilty to aggravated DUI in Coles County court. He is now set to be sentenced in July.

Prosecutors dropped charges that allege he was driving under the influence of marijuana and sending a text message.

Shackles crashed his car through a fence at Coles County Memorial Airport last August. His five year old daughter died at the hospital a short time later.

Shackles could spend up to 14 years in prison for the crime.
