Monticello man charged with DUI after driving into a home

MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) -- A Monticello man has been cited for driving under the influence after his car hit a home Friday night.

It happened on West Marion Street near Centennial St. just after 8 p.m.

Monticello police said, 38 year old Benjamin Benson was driving a 2021 Chevy Malibu and drove off the road and hit a home.

No one inside the home was injured.

Police said, Benson was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Benson was cited for DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol among other offenses.
