SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Two Springfield men were arrested after a human trafficking operation in Springfield in June.
Illinois State Police said 74-year-old Raymond Stengel Sr. and 24-year-old Lucas Barria were arrested during a two-day human trafficking demand suppression operation in Springfield on June 24-25.Â
According to ISP, the operation focused on identifying people looking to engage in commercial sex acts.
Stengel Sr. was charged with traveling to meet a minor. Barria was charged with traveling to meet a minor, indecent solicitation of a minor, and solicitation to meet a child.
According to court records, Stengel Sr. and Barria were both granted pre-trial release and placed on electronic monitoring. Both men have preliminary hearings set on July 16.
