SHELBYVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — On Friday a Moweaqua man had his first appearance in court on charges of indecent solicitation of a child and grooming.
Braxton L. Jayne, 41, appeared in Shelby County Court on Aug. 30. According to court records, he was arrested on a warrant in another case.
The court found that he "poses a threat to the public as he attempted to have sexual relations with a child," and placed him under home arrest with GPS monitoring. He is to have no contact with the alleged victim or unsupervised contact with any minors.
He returns to court in late September.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
