Quincy health officials happy with medication drop-off box success

MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) – A central Illinois pharmacy says it is closing its doors for good.

Sav-Mor Pharmacy leadership says its Mt. Zion store is done at the end of July. The company issued a statement about the closure on Facebook.

“Our mission from day one in 2013, when we first opened our Mt. Zion location, was to offer a high level of personal service, a fantastic choice of gift and home décor items and the highest level of personal patient-focused pharmacy care service imaginable,” the statement said. “We feel we have done a great job in accomplishing these priorities for our customers and patients.”

The statement goes on to say issues with the Medicaid managed care program in Illinois demand “a large volume of prescriptions for survival in the market place. Click here to learn more about that Medicaid issue.

“We appreciate your support over the last five years,” it adds. “It has been a great pleasure taking care of your pharmacy needs in Mt. Zion.
