DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Kids were sneaking onto new playground equipment for a couple of weeks so the Decatur Park District decided it was time to officially open its new Fairview Park Destination Playground.
The new playground is modern, innovative and clean. Various safety measures are built into the equipment to reduce the chance of injury.
The price tag is $1.6 million. Funds were contributed by the state of Illinois, private donors and park district capital funds. Park district staff invested time into the project to get it installed and running.
