PAXTON, Ill. (WAND) - The Paxton Fire Department responded to the Paxton Pool Monday for a hazmat situation. 

The pool's recreation director said containers in the maintenance shed were being cleaned and thought they only contained chlorine. 

Unknown solutions were found inside that reacted negatively when mixed for disposal. 

The pool and surrounding area were safe, and the situation was handled quickly.
