SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Sangamon County Clerk Don Gray announced two petitions for discovery recounts have been filed.

On Wednesday, November 27, a petition was filed for County Board District 25, by Jennifer Merritt.

In this County Board race, Democratic candidate Jennifer Merritt received 1,914 votes, Republican candidate Jennifer Ghesquiere Deaner received 1,921 votes and Libertarian candidate Russ Clark received 271 votes.

The petition specified the two precincts to be inspected are Capital Precincts 52 and 85.

Monday, December 2, a petition was filed for the Recorder’s race, on behalf of Josh Langfelder.

In this race, Democratic candidate Josh Langfelder received 49,093 votes and Republican candidate Frank Lesko received 49,124 votes.

The petition specified 41 precincts to be inspected.

The dates when these discovery recounts will be held will be determined and announced at a later date, Gray said.
