Police looking for suspect who shot 19-year-old in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Champaign Police Department needs your help to find the person responsible for a shooting that happened Thursday night. 

CPD was called to the 4000 block of Balmoral Dr. at 11:51 p.m. for a report of a shooting with injuries. 

Officers found multiple houses with gunfire damage. They learned a 19-year-old Champaign man had arrived at the hospital in a personal vehicle. He is being treated for multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He is hospitalized in stable condition. 

The victim told police he heard multiple shots fired in an exchange of gunfire. 

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Champaign police of CrimeStoppers.
