Elm Street Shooting

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A late night knock on the door ended in a person being shot multiple times in Champaign. 

Champaign police were called to the 700 block of N. Elm St. at 2:35 a.m. Monday for a shooting. 

They found that someone had been shot multiple times with potentially-life-threatening injuries to the legs. The person was rushed to the hospital where they are now stable. 

Police said the person was shot after answering a late-night knock at the door. 

An investigation into the shooting is underway. Anyone with information is asked to call Champaign police.
