Semi truck rollover closes down interstate ramp

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) – A highway ramp was closed after a semi truck rolled over, troopers say.

The crash happened on Interstate 57 southbound on the ramp to Interstate 72 around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. 

According to the preliminary investigation, a semi trailer was traveling southbound on I-57 on the ramp to I-72 eastbound in Champaign County. The driver lost control and left the roadway to the left ditch. The semi rolled over on the driver's side and came to a rest in the ditch. 

The driver was not injured. 

Troopers had the ramp closed until 10:30 p.m.Â
