SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Springfield Police are investigating a nonfatal shooting that occurred in the Enos Park Neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
Around 4:46 p.m., officers responded to the area of N. 7th Street and Bergen Street. When they arrived, they found a 42-year-old Springfield man with a gunshot wound to his right hip area.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment and his injury was reported as non-life threatening
The Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene for evidence collection and witness interviews. Detectives are currently investigating the incident. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
