DECATUR - The Staley Museum will have an official Grand Opening ribbon cutting Saturday April 9th in Decatur. The Ribbon Cutting for the new Staley Museum is slated for 10am with tours until 5pm. The museum is in the Staley Mansion in Decatur and will tell the story of A.E. Staley who founded the company in Decatur now known as Tate and Lyle. Director Laura Jahr has worked diligently with help from the Staley Foundation to renovate and transform the spacious mansion at 361 North College Street. The mansion was built in 1883 and Staley bought it in 1913.
