DECATUR, IL- Decatur Police has arrested a teenager believed to be connected to Monday night's murder of 24 year-old Billy Rutherford.

A 15 year-old Decatur teen was arrested Tuesday night by Decatur Police for Billy Rutherford's murder. Police are not releasing the teen's name at this time.

Police say the same 15 year-old has also been arrested for the attempted murder of 31 year-old Joshua Anderson. Anderson was shot on August 24th while riding his motorcycle near Grand Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.

Police say the teen shot Anderson, believing that Anderson was actually Billy Rutherford. Anderson was treated at St. Mary's hospital and later released.

Decatur Police detectives have also arrested 24 year-old Bradley Warwick, of Decatur, for obstructing justice and filing a false police report.

Police say Warwick made false statements to family members about being involved in the shooting death of Billy Rutherford. Police determined those statements were false and were made in an attempt to get money from family members.

Police also searched another home Tuesday night and found new evidence, including firearms and ammunition. All seized items will be sent to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab for forensic processing.
