KEMPTON, Ill. (WAND) - A teenager has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after officials said she tried to kill her uncle by running him over with her car twice. 

Veronica L. Matuszewski, 18, of Kempton, was charged Friday in Ford County Circuit Court with hitting her uncle twice with her vehicle. 

State’s Attorney Andrew Killian said Matuszewski faces six to 30 years if convicted.

She is being held at the Ford County Jail in Paxton awaiting a preliminary hearing.
