DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A new restaurant is preparing for a grand opening this November.
Castro’s: Tex-Mex Grill will open its doors at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. It will be located on South Oakland Avenue in Decatur in a building across the street from Lock Stock & Barrel.
The announcement came days after the death of owner Jackson Castro’s father Abram.
“This restaurant was our project, and I will forever be grateful and blessed for the time which we got to spend together working on it,” Castro said in a Facebook post. “He was so excited for this, thanks in large part to your collective, incredible support.”
Jackson Castro says the restaurant will forever be dedicated to Abram Castro’s memory. He said his father was laid to rest over the last weekend.
Castro’s previously announced it will service lunch, dinner and late-night food. Management says Mexican and Tex-Mex options will be available.
“On behalf of my father, my family and myself, we thank you for your ongoing support and feedback,” the statement goes on to say. “I will remain forever appreciative. We are looking forward to serving you soon.”
