Nuts - Beer In A Helmet & The Battle Of Bastogne

SPRINGFIELD - A World War II Veteran will recount his experiences of the "Battle of the Bulge" during a Sangamon County Historical Society program on November 15.

Officials say the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Lincoln Library in Springfield, and will feature Auburn resident and World War II vet Vincent Speranza.  Speranza will share his experiences of the Battle of the Bulge, as well as the hardships his unit, the 101st Airborne Division, went through.

Speranza was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service, and also wrote a book detailing his experiences during World War II.
